ABOUT THE ARTIST
Grzegorz Sawa-Boryslawski (born 1983, Wroclaw - Poland). Polish photographer, musician, graphic designer who began taking photographs in the mid 1990's. Since 2005 focused only on pinhole and zone plate. Studied photography at Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Poland (master degree) and Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poland. Receiver of numerous photography awards. Had lot of exhibitions incl. his personal ("Labirynt", Kłodzko/Poland, 2009; "Pinhole Festival", Iserlohn/Germany, 2010; "OFFO", Jastrzębie Zdrój/Poland, 2011; "Paryz-Wroclaw", Wroclaw/Poland, 2013; "Ghosts of Chernobyl", Wroclaw/Poland, Barcelona/Spain, Senigalia/Italy, 2016) and photo festivals ("OFFO", Jastrzębie Zdrój/Poland, 2009; "Pinhole Day" 2009-2013; "Pinhole World", Sopot/Poland, 2012; "Revela-T", Barcelona/Spain, 2016). He works with multiple camera/film combinations, mostly done by himself. Frequently uses classic techniques like talbotype/cyanotype processes and modifies them. Current exhibition titled "Ghosts of Chernobyl" includes 20 photographs taken in Chernobyl/Pripyat exclusion radioactive zone and these are world's first pinhole photographs from that restricted area.
